84,000 square foot, one-story retail store. The structural design is composed of special footings, wide flange columns and a steel joist/joist girder roof system. The building is in a seismic zone 3 and utilizes the exterior CMU walls for lateral resistance. It is also on the side of a hill and has an extensive retaining wall system.

Southwest Ford
Hudson Oaks (Weatherford), Texas
New 92,000 square foot car dealership facility. It consists of a two-story showroom, service area, body shop and parts storage. This is a steel framed roof system with pre-cast concrete panel walls (except for showroom area) on a drilled pier deep foundation with slab-on-grade floors.

Massey Cadillac
Garland, Texas
New 58,498 square foot car dealership. It consists of a new showroom, offices, service and parts storage. It also includes a parking deck over the retention pond for additional parking. This is a steel framed roof system with pre-cast concrete panel walls supported by a drilled pier foundation with slab-on-grade floors.

Five Star Ford
North Richland Hills, Texas
Three building complex consisting of a two-story brick veneer showroom with ornamental curved roof screens and two parts and repair buildings. The 100,000 square feet showroom is a steel frame with long span composite steel decking. The car repair/auto parts storage (more than 80,000 square feet) is concrete panel walls and long span joists. The Body Shop (40,000 + square feet) is the same type structure as the repair building.

New facility with over 100,000 square feet of space. This includes the new two-story showroom/ offices, repair bays and a three level parts storage area.

Barnes and Noble
TCU, UT Dallas and SMU
Remodel of three existing buildings. TCU involved the remodel of an old Safeway store. Wall panels were cut, new platforms added, clock tower front added and platform for the Starbuck’s area. The UT Dallas store is the old Physical Education Building. This building was a pre-cast plank building with a structurally suspended first floor. The load bearing walls of racquetball courts were removed and replaced with steel beams and columns and worked with the existing foundation. The SMU project involves a removal/re-use of the existing roof members to add a clerestory.

Uniondale, New York Camillus, New York Remodel of two existing buildings. One was a driven pile foundation that required a new network foundation system to avoid new piles at the new entrance location. Existing building drawings were available for our use.

Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart

Remodel and additions to the Sam’s Clubs. They consist of mainly steel joist/steel joist girder roofs with cmu exterior walls. The additions are one or two stories (with mezzanine) and new HVAC equipment.

Frank's Nurseries
North Central and Northeast USA
Prototypical retail stores. The stores have a steel framed roof with load bearing CMU exterior walls. There are designs for various snow loads and wind loads depending on the locations. Each store has a truck dock and large outside plant storage area.

FAO Schwartz
McLean, Virginia
Two floor remodel in an existing steel framed building. The existing building is a four story moment framed steel structure. A portion of the second level was removed in an irregular pattern (random) and integrated with the new escalators. We had to maintain the integrity of the moment frame by using new beams, plates and stiffeners.

Gordon Stewart Chevrolet
Tampa, Florida
Four building complex consisting of a large showroom, auto repair/parts building, body shop and used car building. The construction consisted of a braced steel frame (showroom and used cars) and steel joists on load bearing CMU walls (remainder of buildings).

Owen Thomas Ford
Stillwater, Oklahoma
Showroom and two maintenance buildings. The foundations are designed for a steel pre-engineered superstructure. The foundation involved maintenance bays with trenches, floor lifts and car wash areas.
