RESTAURANTS - CHAINS

Brinker International
Nationwide
Design of the prototypical and special restaurants. Current concept designs are Chili's, Maggiano's, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, and Corner Bakery. In the past we have been involved with the schemes of On the Border, Spageddies, Grady's and Cozymel’s. These buildings are framed with all types of building materials depending on location and code requirements. Brinker has been a client of the firm for eleven years and a client of the President for twenty years.
We currently produce over one hundred projects for Brinker International per year. These include “Specials”. These are stores that are in shopping malls (on various levels), old retail centers, old restaurants or other structures that require upgrading, expansion or modification to meet their usage requirements.

TGI Fridays
Nationwide

Designs of the prototypical and remodeled restaurants. These designs have been produced locally as well as in the heavy snow loads of the east and northeastern states. These designs incorporate a combination of wood and steel.

Starbuck’s
West Coast

There are two types of projects for Starbuck’s. One is the freestanding prototype framed with wood (typically) that has been sited in primarily the western states. The other type involves an attached retail space. This additional space can be from 1,000 to 20,000 square feet. Based upon the retail these are steel framed or wood and conform to the design intent of the shopping area.

Chick-fil-a
Nationwide

There are several different site prototypes. The base drawings are maintained by Chick-fil-a. We interface with their computer systems to access the drawings to start with.

Rockfish
Nationwide

Freestanding and end cap buildings. These are mainly wood framed with some steel (depending on location).

Pizza Hut
Nationwide

Designs of the prototypical and remodeled restaurants.

Carrabas
Dallas, Texas

Remodel of an antique mall for new units (HVAC and kitchen) and the elevated concrete planter feature at the entrance area.

Smokey Bones
Nationwide

Remodel of Olive Gardens, Red Lobsters and Don Pablo’s (many of which we did originally) into the new Darden concept. This includes interior and exterior revisions.

Perkins
Nationwide
Small prototype that has been mainly sited in Florida and the eastern states.

Arby’s
Nationwide
The prototype we are using has been sited in Texas and the eastern states.

Razzoo’s
Texas and North Carolina
These are free-standing 3,000 square feet plus buildings. The “prototype” changes for each project. These are steel framed buildings with various foundations (i.e., stiffened slab, belled piers, etc.) for the different locations.

Z’Tejas Southwestern Grille
Dallas and Georgia
Two separate prototype buildings that are wood framed with exposed structure (arched glulams and heavy timber beams).

Texas Land and Cattle
Texas and Colorado
Wood framed prototype buildings. We have a northern design on a structural slab and a southern design on a stiffened slab-on-grade foundation.

Don Pablo's
Nationwide

These concept designs are steel framed with wood infill. There are one and two story prototypes.

Tony Roma's
East Coast/Central

Freestanding prototypes. We have a basic central design (Texas) and a basic coastal design (Florida). All wood framed with a central clerestory.

Canyon Cafe
Nationwide

Freestanding prototypes and special remodels. Remodels have required interfacing with other structural engineers (usually mall). Ponderosa
Nationwide

Freestanding prototype. Wood glulam construction with tectum decking (exposed structure).

Olive Garden Restaurants
Nationwide

Design of the prototypical restaurants (6 different types). The structural designs include wood or steel framing for 120 mph winds, seismic zone 4, roof snow loadings (20, 30 & 40 PSF), and etc. depending on the location of the project.

Taco Bell
Texas Area
These are wood framed buildings on a stiffened slab system in Texas and Oklahoma.
